#Article-1833369846

Configuring Worktypes is essential in FlowFit. You must have one, at least, to be able to create and receive projects. You can create and modify your list later on, according to your needs.

Worktypes help define types of projects (for example, β€˜β€™Translation’’ vs. β€˜β€™Subtitling’’) and can also be used to implement various sets of automatic rules (for example, using the Virtual Coordinator).

  1. Give your work type an EN description. Click on the blue + sign to add the French translation.

  2. Activate the worktype to make it visible to project managers and clients.
We recommend activating it once you are ready to test it.

  3. If necessary, select the module (if using modules) to restrict the visibility.
We recommend leaving this field empty at first.

  4. Indicate how you want the source and target documents to be deposited in the FlowFit portals.
We recommend using the β€˜β€™enabled’’ option at first.

  5. You can allow the source and target language of your FlowFit project to be the same (for a unilingual revision for example) but this will prevent from creating a CAT tool project.

  6. You can add exceptions to which file types to allow (default file extensions are found under βš™ > Administration > Projects > AUTHORIZED FILE EXTENSIONS).
We recommend ticking the β€˜β€™system file extensions’’ box at first.

Note: Certain work types can be allowed for specific clients, in the Management section of the General Information tab of the client profile.
